LBB Stables NEW 2024 Foals Are Here!!!

The future of LBB Stables is here! With our recent expansion into breeding comes TWO 2024 foals from recent broodmare acquisitions. Both foals are currently in Lexington, KY and doing extremely well. We couldn't be more excited about our foray into breeding - these two have plenty of upside, as seen in both their physical conformation to date and their breeding.

- As this is our foray into breeding, we're using this opportunity to maximize the learning experience for our partners: as we learn, we want our Partners to learn and be involved every step of the way.
- Being an unraced daughter of Always Dreaming, the commercial appeal for her foals in the market will likely be very light. For that reason, we will focus on breeding to race, while always being open to the possibility of selling.

- To that end, we're excited to partner with Justyn Harper and Kali Kleinfelt of Hawk Hill Farm in Sterling, KY. Justyn and Kali have many years of experience in various aspects of the industry and will be a huge help as we navigate this experience for the first time.

- Our resident pedigree expert, Jessica Tugwell, will be working closely with our breeding team and manage Often Tipsy's program. She has compiled a shortlist of stallions for us to consider for this first mating, and has worked with third-party resources to find the right sire to begin our journey.

- We're excited to announce that we've chosen MO TOWN as Often Tipsy's first mate in 2024. More details can be found below.

In 2024, we'll be breeding Often Tipsy to hot, young sire MO TOWN! Join us for our first homebred opportunity, with the Often Tipsy 2025 Foal by Mo Town
WHY MO TOWN?
We're very keen on Mo Town as a value stallion - in only two crops, he’s gotten 69% starters, although only 50.8% of those are winners. While the percentage of winners might seem low, it is quite good for a second-crop sire - compare leading second-crop sires Justify (51.1% starters/44.4% winners), Good Magic (62.4% starters/50.7% winners), Bolt d’Oro (62.1% starters/56% winners), Mendelssohn (60.3% starters/50% winners), and City of Light (53.6% starters/45.5% winners). It’s notable that Mo Town has stakes winner Mazing Mark out of a mare by Malibu Moon, and the Bernardini/Malibu Moon cross has produced two stakes winners in just 16 starters to date (12.5%), making that inbreeding less of a concern.

In addition, our selection of MO TOWN was supported by Goldmine Broodmare Analysis, where he is found to be a perfect, 20/20 stallion match for Often Tipsy. The Stallion Match shows Graded Stakes winners with similar pedigree to our proposed match. Stakes winners with similar pedigrees include By The Moon, Celesital City, Liason, Arabian Knight and Brightwork.
