Colt, by Take Charge Indy -
Careless Moment (Successful Appeal)
We're delighted with the outcome of our first 2yo in Training sale in securing Hip #88 out of the Fasig Tipton - Timonium sale in May. He's a big, strong colt by Take Charge Indy, and is part of the first crop of 2yo's since Take Charge Indy's return from breeding in Korea. His dam has produced two other foals of racing age, one of which (Bossy Moment) is a stakes winning mare who has won seven times, and has amassed over $300K in earnings. The other (Case) was a $375K purchase last year and has raced and placed twice at Gulfstream Park, earning Beyer speed figures of 77 & 78. He's currently at Monmouth Park, under the care of trainer Kent Sweezey.

What We Liked About Him & The Game Plan
- We loved his breeze! For a bigger 2yo, he ran his 10.4 and 35.3 gallop out with ease. He's got a great stride and seemed to do it very professionally.
- There is a ton of production in his family. His half sister, Bossy Moment, has WON statebred restricted stakes races in Iowa, and his half brother, Case, has two very good races at Guflstream Park this spring. His dam is a half to Killybeg's Captain amassed nearly $600K in earnings with wins in the DeFrancis Dash and The Pelican stakes.
- Being an Iowa-bred gives us some options down the road, including Owner's awards should we race in Iowa in the future. There are some statebred Stakes options to consider in the fall and in 2024.
- Our 2yo colt has shipped to Monmouth Park where he will begin his on-track preparations for his debut race.

Trainer - Kent Sweezey
As the newest addition to the LBBS team of trainers, Sweezey grew up in Lexington, Ky., where his parents operate Timber Town Stable. He then went on to work for trainer Christophe Clement for a year, before venturing to Southern California to work for trainer Eoin Harty for three years and returning east to serve as Jerkens assistant for three years. In 2017, Sweezey went out on his own and now has strings of horses at Monmouth Park and Gulfstream Park. Our Take Charge Indy colt is now stabled at Monmouth Park for the summer.
