Filly, by Unified -
Lemon Schnapps (Flatter)

In partnership with Liberty House Racing, LBB Stables has added two new MD-Bred fillies to the barn. The first of which is a good-looking filly by Unified out of the dam Lemon Schnapps. Initial feedback from Lacey is that she is "LOVELY' and a good mover. She was a $27K purchase at the OBS June Sale where she breezed 2F in a very snappy 10 seconds and looked very good doing it. She's getting 30 days before returning to training in August, with the goal to start racing in the fall of 2023.

What We Liked About Her & The Game Plan

- We loved her breeze! She has good size for a 2yo filly and ran in :10 flat and 35.3 gallop out with ease. She's got a really nice stride and seemed to do it very professionally.

- While this is her dam's first foal, there is good production in her family including Plenty of Vision, a state-bred stakes winner in Oklahoma.

- A deep-dive on her breeding showcases the A.P. Indy/Lemon Drop Kid cross on the bottom, so you get Lassie Dear twice in the fifth generation. Mares inbred to Lassie Dear have produced 5% SWs in 540 starters. Plus, Unified is linebred to family 4m and this filly comes from that same mitochondrial haplotype

- Our 2yo filly will ship back to Laurel Park after her 30-day break, where she will begin her on-track preparations for her debut race under trainer Lacey Gaudet.

Trainer - Lacey Gaudet

Lacey grew up with horses at her family’s farm in Upper Marlboro, Md., and now is at the helm of one of the largest stables at Laurel Park. She was an assistant to her father during the summer when he was based at Monmouth Park, and has worked for trainers Helen Pitts in Florida and Tom Albertrani and Allen Iwinski in New York.  Gaudet is an advocate of cooperation and following through on initiatives that are in the best interest of Maryland racing.
